Our Mission
Our mission is to use an intergenerational approach to equip elementary and recent high school graduates with the tools to achieve their academic and leadership potential. We envision a world where all children reach their full potential.
The Problem
Only 40% of Atlanta Public School (APS) third grade students read on grade level. What’s worse, a student who can’t read on grade level by 3rd grade is four times less likely to graduate high school. Meanwhile, only 27% APS high school graduates complete a post-secondary degree of any kind, and less than half of APS students who enroll in college, graduate within 6 years. We need to ensure that our young students are strong readers who are ready for the rigors of higher education, and that there is a place to support talented students who require additional nurturance to reach their full potential as college educated community leaders.
